2016 Ford Focus

When comparing the 2016 Hyundai Elantra to the 2016 Ford Focus, Savannah, Beaufort, and Hilton Head Island drivers rely once more on the Hyundai name for stand-out performance, comfortable space, and innovative technology and safety. They also appreciate the base pricing for a vehicle that's as easy and durable on road treks, as it is while running errands and handling commutes.

Better Value for the Pricing

First impressions usually start with pricing and there's a noticeable difference between that of the Elantra and the Ford Focus. The Elantra's SE has an MSRP of $17,150, and the Limited trim starts at $22,350. By contrast, the Focus' S starts at $17,225, and its Titanium Hatch, which is most comparable to the Limited, has an MSRP of $23,725.

Strong and Smooth Performance

The 2016 Elantra delivers smooth sailing with a 147-hp 2.0L four-cylinder DOHC D-CVVT engine with 132 lb. ft. torque. FWD six-speed manual transmission is standard for the SE, with the option of six-speed Shifttronic® automatic transmission and active Eco system, which is standard for the Limited. Electronic stability control, traction control, and electronic brake force distribution support and enhance the vehicle, so every environment is possible.

A 160-hp 2.0L Ti-CVT engine with 146 lb. ft. torque, and five-speed manual or optional six-speed PowerShift transmission powers the 2016 Focus S, SE, and Titanium trims. It just doesn't provide Hyundai's fine combination of ease and force.

Classic and Contemporary Features

Modern yet timeless details also distinguish the 2016 Elantra from the 2016 Focus:

  • The 2016 Hyundai Elantra: Seating for five is spacious in the 2016 Hyundai Elantra, with 95.8 cu. ft. passenger volume, that includes 38.8" front head, 56.2" front shoulder, and 35.7" rear leg room. The 179.9" length and 106.3" wheelbase are complemented by the signature front profile with wide grille and arched lighting. Door handle approach lights, solar glass, and optional HID projector headlights with Dynamic Bending are additional perks. Dual automatic temperature control with air quality filters and defogging, a leather interior including shift knob and steering wheel trim, and ergonomic instrument and console designs make this a pleasure to ride in.
  • 2016 Ford Focus: There's less presence in the 2016 Ford Focus, which has a 104.3" wheelbase, and whose longest trim is 178.7". Passenger volume is 90 cu. ft., with 38.3" front head, 55.6" front shoulder, and 33.2" rear leg room. The Focus looks very cookie cutter for its class, with features that fall flat, especially given its higher price.

Smart Technology for Today's World

With an Integrated Memory System for driver settings and preferences, and focused assistance including Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and automatic emergency breaking with pedestrian detection, the Elantra utilizes the latest technology for today's fast paced world. It also provides practicality and convenience, with the hands-free trunk and Proximity Key.
