2017 Hyundai Sonata vs 2017 Honda Accord at Hilton Head Hyundai near Bluffton

The Many Ways the Hyundai Sonata Dominates the Competition

When it comes to luxury-level cars and technology at prices regular people can afford, it's hard to be Hyundai. These state-of-the-art vehicles have a deserved reputation for high-quality, smooth rides with the amenities and features modern-day drivers want.

Here at Peacock Hyundai Hilton Head, we're proud to recommend all of our Hyundai-made cars and SUVs to our customers throughout the Rigeland, Hardeeville, Bluffton, Beaufort, and Hilton Head Island area, especially the Hyundai Sonata.

The Hyundai Sonata

The Hyundai Sonata, which we have a nice selection of here at Hilton Head Hyundai, is a mid-sized, four-door sedan that is both sleek and luxurious. It offers a spacious cabin that can easily and comfortably accommodate children and adults, and its seats are cozy even on long car rides.

The Sonata is available in multiple trim levels and with a variety of engines. Plus, there are two hybrid versions of the Sonata, a traditional hybrid and a plug-in hybrid.

The trim lineup for the Hyundai Sonata includes:

  • Sonata Base
  • Sonata SE
  • Sonata Sport
  • Sonata Eco
  • Sonata Limited
  • Sonata Sport 2.0T
  • Sonata Limited 2.0T

The Hyundai Sonata vs. the Honda Accord

As you can see, we're big fans of this lush and smooth-riding sedan. But, as wonderful as we know it to be, we also know that it's one of many in a crowded market of four-door sedans. However, we think the Sonata stands out for a number of reasons, especially when compared head to head with the competition.

If you're torn between this Hyundai sedan and its competing sedan, the Honda Accord, read on. We've put these two side by side to give you facts and help make your car-buying decision a little easier.

  • Warranty. Hyundai has a better warranty. Not that we expect anything to go wrong with your Sonata, of course, but things happen. Hyundai offers a 5-year or 60,000-mile warranty for basic coverage and 10 years or 100,000 miles for drivetrain, compared to the Honda's 3-year or 36,000-mile for basic and 5-year or 60,000-mile for drivetrain.
  • Space. The Hyundai Sonata measures a little bit taller and wider than the Honda Accord, translating to more space inside the cabin for you and your passengers. In fact, you will experience more legroom and headroom in the Sonata than the Accord, especially in the front seat.
  • Trunk space. The Hyundai Sonata can accommodate more cargo in its trunk, which is larger than the trunk you'll find in a Honda Accord.
  • Features. Even at its base trim level, the Hyundai Sonata never shorts its drivers when it comes to standard tech features and amenities. In fact, the base Sonata comes with a long list of terrific equipment, including heated side mirrors and a backseat that folds in a 40/60 split. You have to move up trim levels and spend a lot more money to get these same features on a Honda Accord.
  • Options. Hyundai gives its customers more options when it comes to how they want to customize their car. Specifically, the Sonata has a plug-in hybrid in addition to a traditional hybrid. Comparatively, the Honda Accord only has one hybrid option, the traditional hybrid motor.
